Nestled along the bay between Daphne and Fairhope, the community of Montrose is located on high bluffs overlooking Mobile Bay. The Montrose historic district, with fifteen historically significant buildings, is on the National Register of Historic Places. All are residential, with the exception of the 1890 Montrose Post Office.


The magnificent Malbis Memorial Church on State Highway 181 is the only remnant left of the original Greek Settlement in this area in the early 1900s. Now the area has become bustling with shopping centers and neighborhoods that claim either Spanish Fort or Daphne as their city.


The dark rich soil of this unincorporated area attracted many farmers from days gone by. Now known as Belforest, the area is still home to numerous family farms and has many new subdivisions sprinkled in. Located just east of Daphne, Belforest offers easy access to I-10 and a convenient central location.
